Gwen Stefani has a boy!
Gwen Stefani delivered a boy Friday May 26 around 1 p.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to Us Weekly.
After the C-section delivery, Stefani’s husband, Gavin Rossdale, and Stefani’s father walked out of the operating room and greeted family waiting in a private room. Rossdale announced that the baby had been born and the entire room started screaming and clapping. Sources say the rocker parents are considering calling their son (who was born with a thick thatch of hair) Kingston, or “King” for short.
That’s pretty cool and not too strange of a name, either. It definitely could have been worse, considering that this is the Harajuku-girls-inflicting Gwen Stefani we’re talking about. I wonder if Kingston is a family name or if it has any other special significance? Or maybe she just really loves Jamaica and always wants to remember the good times she had there while recording that last No Doubt album. Yeah, you know what kind of good times I’m talking about, the kind that involve large clouds of irie smoke, mon!
Just kidding! Maybe.
Actually, I was so sure she was having a girl? Those damn tabloid reports with their misdirection. I was so looking forward to seeing how she was going to dress her little mini-Gwen. Oh well, you know she’ll get creative and find some way to dress little King all crazy! It’s Gwen Stefani, it’s what she does best.
In any case, congratulations to the proud new parents Gwen and Gavin on their little bundle of joy!
